My battery in my 1995 Montero drains in an hour.

you need to get an ammeter and hook it in between the battery and the cable. on the negative side is ok and probably safest. or you might get a meter that just wraps around the cable and senses the electric field. pull all the fuses. put them back in one at a time until the ammeter makes a jump. you bettar get that fixed. if it getas any worse the car is liable to catch fire. There is another possibility - unhook the battery and charge it up - or run the car to charge it up - and then unhook the cables and see if it holds charge. if it does NOT then the problem is an internal short in the battery - which can happen if the plates warp .you should do this FIRST. be careful - wear goggles have fresh water handy. shorted batteries can internally spark and explode.
