cross stitch if your children are old enough not to mess thin needles or crochet if younger children, its fun to make thing for them and let them watch also very relaxing to me. Do you sew at all If so then making them clothes or even doll clothes and such all of these also teach children hand, eye coordination as they try to mimic you. Its also very helpful to sew when they start tearing clothes at play of losing buttons.

right now since my son is only 2, scrap booking isn't easy for me (he scribbles the pictures, eats the paper, etc...) so i learned crochet...just have to save the cutting at the end for naps and such...but he loves to play with the balls of yarn and he always claims the finished blankets!

I've just started painting, its relaxing and you can get supplies for you and the kids if you don't have alone time.

scrapbook! especially you have kids i bet your taking tons of pictures. plus you can find really cute baby/kids scrapbooking stuff just go to michaels or rag shop!
