Yes, my grandma was almost 102 when she died. She still walked every day for exercise.

I have - but then I worked several years as a nursing supervisor in a nursing home, so I'm bound to have encountered more than most folks. You'd be surprised how intelligent and worldly those old folks are. Their shortcomings were physical, not mental - and they could tell ya a thing or two about a great many topics that're important today.

Yep. her name was Tessie. I got to know her as I was her home health aide for a while. She was very interesting person. She was 12 years old when her family came over from Germany. She was on the ship that finally showed up to claim survivors off the Titantic. She said that is something she will never forget. 12 years old and seeing people come on board with death all over their faces. Her parents wouldn't let her get close to any of them either. Very interesting lady.

I had to think about that for a minute and yes I have personally known someone who was 101 years old. She was one of my sister's neighbors and would come over to my sister's house and visit all the time. My daughter would go over to her house and visit her.

Yes, I had the pleasure knowing someone that age and her younger sister when I was working with elderly people in a volunteer job.
I learned a lot from them. To the person who said it would be strange to know someone that age; you're right, it was strangely wonderful.
When a person that age discusses life they know what they're talking about, esp. history. because they've been there and done that.

Almost. My great-gran was 99 years old. She started smoking when she was 9 years old...I guess the tobacco companies should have made her their poster child.
