Crash, definately. Brokeback Mountain was actually an amazing and powerful movie, despite the subject matter. Crash was just blah.

For films costing over a $100,000,000, throwing most of it into physical authenticity, and perhaps $78.25 on learning how people actually talked and behaved in 1912, no question: Titanic
For incredibly crude films pushed by the MGM publicity department: Broadway Melody.
I also agree with most of the injustices mentioned by other posters.

Didn't "Dances with Wolves" beat "GoodFellas" for Best Picture? I know Kevin Costner beat Martin Scorsese for Best Director, which is the biggest sham ever. What a boring, horrible movie that was

Well Shakespeare in love won a lot of Oscars and I am not 100% sure it got best picture as well but it has to be the most over-rated film of all time.

It HAD to have been "The English Patient" (it SHOULD have been called "For God's Sake, DIE Already!").
Even worse that they also gave it Best Costume Design, when it so clearly should have gone to "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert"...

I am going to have to say "The Silence of the Lambs". It was good and all, but I thought it was overrated and nothing but another horror movie
