Edwards would sell his Mother to get elected. This isn't surprising in the least. He is, as you say, "Despicable"

You have got to be kidding. Do you really think he is happy that his wife has cancer? That he is thinking about his career while he looks at her test results? And that voters care anyway for that matter? Maybe voters will doubt that he can do the job with a very sick wife. Ever think of that?

Get off his back. He didn't have any kind of sympathy vote from me until you showed up with this question!

You didn't listen to the whole report. As you know, news has a habit of LEAKING OUT, so they addresed this issue before it could. Now how is that a sympathy attempt? The news would still have come out. Come On, think it through, I know some of you have brains!!

When I first heard it I thought that it was terrible. Then I changed my mind. Mrs. Edwards condition is treatable but not curable. She will die of it. If her last wish it to help her husband become president then I can respect that.

However, I won't be voting for Edwards. I think his attention will be too split between government issues and personal issues. The world is in a mess thanks to Bush. Whoever takes over is going to need every bit of their concentration to help this country recover. We can't afford a part-time president.

If he had been undecided about running, and then made his decision after her diagnosis I would tend to agree with you. In this case, I think Mrs. Edwards is being both courageous and realistic in determining not to let her diagnosis interfere with what has been a goal and a dream for both of them. I am a cancer survivor...we must choose to fight back and keep on living.

If they hadn't made the announcement he would've been accused of hiding it. He was being open & honest. She is likely to live 10 years with treatment-should they stay home and cry? Surely, you have a real political issue. If not, how sad.

I was getting that same vibe from him. I sincerely hope that I am wrong because that would be a new low for Politicians and that is saying something.

What do you want Edwards to do - hide his wifes condition?

You are wrong. His wife is the one who pushed him to continue. She plans to campaign with him as much as possible.

It appears to me that she wants him to run, regardless of her condition. She's a very brave woman.
