Delicate and fragile
like the time I left you
the future separates and divides
it teaches us to cry
cuts with surgical precision
life from other lives
friends from other friends
dreams from the dangling nerve ends
of restless modern trends.

In my poetic life,
A critic I've never been,
May love find you one day,
So you won't leave again,
Only we may see what's in our hearts,
From an eagles view up high,
Our tears may fall at the speed of sound,
So in silence, our eyes are dry.
Our cheeks may flush a shade of red,
As we think of long lost love,
A speck of dust has landed in our hair,
More dehydrated tears from above.
