Do the words Al Qaida mean anything to you? Maybe she's afraid to come home one day and find you wearing an explosive vest. With all this crap going on in the world most all of the people from that region are looked at a lot differently now.

it is the different values and believes we have.We do not marry a girl right after we meet and talk for two minutes!YOu should open your minde when you meet an english man, it is the same when an english man is in yoru coutnry, he should respect yoru culture and background too but a lot of us may be afraid that if we get close to some one in your area, we have to get married right away! One culture may have hard time to understand an other cutlure some times.

The English culture is used to a more equal relationship between the sexes than the Pakistani one--maybe that's why.
It may not be personal to you, they just can't change your cultural assumptions about marriage, etc.
