Do not kill them, bats are very important to the ecosystem as they rid the environment of harmful insects such as mosquitos, some bats are important to pollination for certain fruits, and flowers. Here is a good website that will give you some tips on how to humanely get them out of your home.

If they are in your attic, for instance, find where they go in and out. Then go up there at night, when they are gone. Scare away any remaining bats, and close off all their entryways with metal screen or whatever. Clean up the guano and put it in your compost pile. (Well, that's what I'd do with it...) Again, make sure no bats are left inside.
Check the next day to make sure you have successfully excluded them, or whether they have found their way back in. If there are bats present, figure out how they got in, and go back again at night and close the entry way.
You could hire a pest control company to do this for you. Don't do it when the bats have babies; wait until they are independent.
It is actually beneficial to have bats in the neighborhood, as they eat so many insects. Many people build or buy special bat houses, both "bachelor" houses and "nurseries" suitable for a colony of nursing mothers and infants.

By not killing them first of all. Please try looking into bat boxes. They are like bird houses in the way they give a site specific home that is not destructive to your property which is I'm guessing your issue with them. If they have made a home in an undesirable place simply wait till dusk untill they leave for the nights feeding and locate the spot that they have exited their home from, close it off and they should find a new home, maybe the box you put up for them.

In order to get rid of bats, use fire. For the cause of bats being nocturnal, and usually live in dark places like caves, or your chimeneys, basments, attics, etc. They don't like the brightness like the light AND heat of fire.

You can ebay them or take em to a 'Play It Again Sports'.

Or you could burn the wooden ones. Metal ones will probably have to be thrown away.
