I wasn't actually planning on doing it.. but I was curious as to if I could take my guinea pig in the shower with me, if he's not directly under the water? I've had him for about 7 months and he's only ever had one bath. I think it would be cool to have him join me in the morning, it could help wake him up.

Well, just to give you an answer, unless you have a guinea pig that you show or it has lice, guinea pigs don't need baths. Now I have given mine a bath to get rid of lice and to help their dry skin, but word of warning: guinea pigs are NOT happy getting baths, nor are they happy about getting blow dried. The drying part is important because if they are even the slightest bit damp, they can catch a cold or pneumonia and die. So unless it's absolutely necessary or you just want to piss your guinea pig off, I'd say not a good idea!

Umm... how old are you?? I don't think that sane people think of this.

But I will add that guinea pigs actually can swim.

You CAN do whatever you want... but it doesn't mean it'd be a good idea... there's just not really a purpose for it and it's weird. I'm sorry, but it is. You could easily get scratched as well.

I don't think you should. You'll get hair all over you. If you give it a bath in the morning you have to be able to make sure that he dries completely or he will get sick.

as long as you don't put it down it should be fine but watch out for getting water or soap in it's eyes, nose, or mouth, that could do some damage.

Well, I don't think it would hurt him - it's just water. However, if the jets are too hard it might hurt him.

To everybody else, just answer the question. It's not up to your judgment.
