i guess if famous recording labels hear them and are impressed, they sign the singer to the label and advertise for them.
i've found that songs become hits if they have both singles and videos for them.

not even.people are all into fads.its all about whats hot. Alot of artists with great talent dont get a big break as much as artists who pretty much juss give the people what they want-be it their style or not.
it can also have to do with how much effort is put into it-how badly someone wants the fame.
