Help! Forgot password on AOL?

I can't remember the password and so I can't delete the screen name...I'm on the free service so AOL won't help.

The person I created the name for is no longer around, is there some way to recover the pw & delete the account?

Call AOL. This happened to me, and they were very helpful.

Why is it so important to delete it? I don't think there is sorry. Unless you hack aol, lol.
