I used to smoke the green stuff several times daily, but then had some issues with the law (not herb or drugs) and I'm on probation. I've been on probation for almost an entire year now, but the hard part is...I have one more year to go until I'm officially finished. I've been good and I've completely stopped smoking, but I find it very, very difficult to cope with sometimes; it was something I had always enjoyed and preferred over alcohol. What I came on here to ask is probably a stupid question, but I figure I'd give it a shot. Does anyone know of a legal herb that I can buy at a head shop that actually has similar effects to THC? I'm looking for something legal that wouldn't cause me to fail drug tests (I've never actually been tested for drugs before).

weed is not pyshically addictive but it is as psychologically addictive as any hard drug. It is very hard for people to grasp this concept because they see the severe withdrawl symptoms that people get from heroin and try to compare it to withdrawl symptoms from weed (which there are none ) - but you are comparing two different things here - heroin is very physically addictive as well as psycho-addictive.

You can't really understand this perspective until youve stopped smoking weed for a long time (which it seems like you have). I am always surrounded by people smoking weed and ive controlled myself to rarely smoking - its all will-power, i usually give myself something to think of when someone offers me to smoke.

to answer your question though - i think ive tried alternatives before and it is not the same. you wont get high if there is no thc.. theres no 'substitute' unforunately.

imo just rarely smoke, and if you only smoke a joint every 2 weeks or so, it should be out of ur system in a few days .

You likely won't be able to do it until you're off probation; however, there are two solutions I can think of. Type variations on "legal weed", "legal marijuana" into your favorie search engine. I believe today "Google" is The search engine. There is a substance out there that supposedly is as good as weed or better. You can't buy it otc, but you can order it. If it's worth $50 to lose (if they rip you off), go for it.
IF you live in a state/city/neighborhood that's involved in the National Cannabis studies (do a search for that as well), if you can get on the National Cannabis study, you can get all the weed you want for free.

I stopped using grass some years ago when I read a British study that links it with adult onset schizophrenia and bipolar conditions.

...sadly, i don't think so...anything that would offer the effect would surely turn up in a drug screen...maybe somebody knows of something, but, i've never found a substitute for weed...
