My girlfriend is too afraid to take a pregnancy test to see if it comes out positive or negative. This Sunday will be the first week if she is pregnant. For some reason she wants to take the test on April 7th, which is two weeks away. So if the test comes out positive is it still possible to stop the pregnancy?

Well, if you think she got pregnant less than a week ago...your girlfriend is right not to test yet. The test won't show up positive until about 2 weeks after conception. She's probably waiting until her period is due to take it, which is what you're supposed to do for most accurate results. And no, you can't "stop" a pregnancy...to stop pregnancy would be to prevent it. You're talking about abortion. Use the word. Yes, your girlfriend can have an abortion after she's been pregnant 3 weeks, but that's up to her, not you. Next time, stop the pregnancy by her being on birth control pills and you using a condom.

When doctors determine how far along a women is when she is pregnant, they count the two weeks before her period would ever start. Therefore, if she is pregnant, she will be around 5 weeks pregnant April 7th. That said, if by stopping the pregnancy you mean abortion, most clinics do it up to 20 weeks along I believe. If that is what both of you want to do, I wouldn't want to wait that long. Just remember what a blessing a baby could be. I have a 4 month old daughter and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

If a pregnancy shows positive then she IS pregnant there is not stopping her from being pregnant...she can terminate the pregnancy by having an abortion. And contrary to what trouble says...in the United States you can't medically abort a pregnancy past the 22nd week of pregnancy.

You can't "stop the pregnancy", you can abort the baby up to birth in the US.
It's also too late for the "morning after pill".. it has to be taken within 48 hours... hence the "morning after" part... and it's NOT risk-free and won't hurt her. Here's truth about that: http://www.morningafterpill.org/

Tell her she needs to call her OBGYN asap to get the morning after pill- the earlier she takes it, the more effective it is. And if she's not pregnant, it will do no harm to her.
Also, if she doesn't want her parents to know anything have her go to a Planned Parenthood, they will help her no matter what and will only charge her what she can afford.

Yes you can stop it, but its wrong. If she is pregnant then the baby is meant to be here on this world. I mean she could have a abortion but that would be murder and wrong. Do what you think is best.

yes she can have an abortion if she chooses 2. She can terminate her pregnancy up until about 22 weeks..........make sure its her choice.........
