It could be a fibroid problem. I personally never experienced this but a friend of mine bleeds for long periods and she said its because of her fibroids. What is happening to her fibroids I dont know.

Go see a doctor and insist s/he investigates. It definitely isnt normal and needs to be treated

Often it's hormonal. Might you be pregnant? Bleeding can occur early in pregnancy & might indicate a pregnancy in your fallopian tubes. How old are you? Hormones fluctuate a lot before menopause. Are you taking birth control pills, or do you have Norplant, an IUD or get Depo-Provers injections? Maybe you have polyps or fibroids. All of these can cause bleeding. Is there a lot of blood? If so, you're at risk for becoming severely anemic. At any rate, see a different doctor. It's definately not normal.

As a matter of fact I had this type of problem, but I am older than you when it happened to me.....but I went to my GYN, and of course they did all the blood work and so forth, but she also did a vaginal ultra sound and found that I had 2 tumors. I was put on low dose BC pills....was a bad experience for me.....I had a headache for a little over a month b4 I figured out what was causing the problem.....anyway due to my age and not wanted to go through it again, because I only had just a few options for myself.......I opted to have a hysterectomy that was 2 years ago at age 38. I know that due to your age, this is not an option.....but there are other options available to you. But you need to get to the GYN....a different one, if yours didn't help, even a different one in the same practice.....tell them again what is going on. They will probably scrape your cervix...and this is painful...but it is to check for cancer and other things....and they will check your hormone level....but you need to go b4 you become anemic, I had a period from April-Sept. April - June was constant, and thankfully because of the BC I had a pleasant month, but never knew how heavy it would be, or if it would just decide to get heavy when I stood up....anyhow, things were OK, not great from July - Sept......Just head to the Dr. again.

I have not experienced this kind of bleeding, but if I did and if my doctor couldn't explain it to my satisfaction or do anything about it I would find another doctor.

Be sure you understand what the doctor says. Bring a notebook so you can write things down, or bring a friend with a notebook. If you don't understand what's going on say, "I don't understand this." You may have to be more assertive and ask more questions than you are used to doing.

I hope it's something simple and you get it cleared up soon.

Did you recently switch birth control like have the depro implant or something? I've heard of that happening when you switch contraception methods. Maybe go to the doctor and get a second opinion. I guess you may have had a miscarriage, but I'm not sure.

You could go to "Ask Dr. Cullins," on the Planned Parenthood website:

You could be going through early menopause- unless you are over 45 in which case its about the right time.

Did the doctors take any bloods? if they did they could be checking for high vitamin and mineral levels such as iron which can cause heavy periods. They may also be looking for others.

If your doctor didnt help, see another one and mention how unhlpful the previous doctor is. A period this long is not normal and you are right to be worried.

See another doctor now. I hemorrhaged for 2 weeks and then had pain. I went to the doctor and they said I had a miscarriage. They did a DNC then I had bleeding for a few more days. If no doctor go to the emergency room.

yes, and my doctor did pelvic exam and took small biopsy, which came back negative. You may have fibroids a benign tumor which could cause bleeding(excessive). Anyways I was put on birth control pills and have the lightest periods ever. I even intentionally skip one months period every other month. I skip them because I was told I could by my gynecologist. I hope this helps..........

I actually have experienced it, I went for a whole bunch of testing before they finally put me on birth control, you may want to consult your doctor about having an ultrasound done to make sure there is no scaring on the uterus walls.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.

In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/8gnI9
