My little brother and myself set ourselves out to make "pies" the exact recipe escapes me right this moment, but I do know it had grated chalk, red food colouring and sultanans, plus of course the required mud was in there too.... We ate it and to be perfectly honest, it was damn good. Some would think it pretty disgusting but when you make a thing with your own hands,,,, well, it takes on a whole other dimension really.

I did too, use to pat them out on a board and leave it in the sun to dry them. I took daisy petals and mixed them in the mud and then sprinkled the yellow center on top for decoration.

each and all of the time. I used to like to play in the airborne dirt and mud. It grew to become into the main relaxing element for me to do. Then i could locate dry sand and sprinkle it over the perfect and fake that that grew to become into the icing.

Yes, I did. The mud was very dark--like chocolate--so we added walnuts from the walnut tree. ♥

Our dirt had just the right amount of clay in it to hold them together even when you tip the container over and tap it out...

Clay is the secret!

Certainly. My next door neighbor and I used to try to sell them. We called them mudburgers. A guy came by once and said he'd like one. I said, "With or without?" He said , "With or without what?" I said, " Crabgrass."
