I think it sucks too. It doesn't mean anything at all.
I just got up one morning and someone had stuck an obnoxious orange sticker under my avatar.
I posted a request to be removed from the top contributor list that morning on yahoo suggestions and got an email that afternoon telling me that yahoo was deleting my request to opt out of the top contributor thing. No explanation was given.
If you want mine you can have it if you can figure out a way to get it.

Yes, I totally agree. Some of these "Top Contributors" have less % of best answer than I do. To me it's a title for people who have no life and have only one thing to do, sit on Yahoo Answers.

I wasn't even sure what it was until I clicked on it: "Most knowledgeable in the said area"--or some kind of crap.
I don't even know HOW I qualify. And I don't even think I want to.
