Most schools will have the following:
Activity Fee: this underwrites the cost of various campus events and activities so students can attend at free or reduced price.
Technology Fee: Access to wireless, probably some digital printing, etc.
Health Fee: underwrites costs for campus health center
Athletic Fee: allows use of gyms and workout equipment
Individual programs may have lab fees attached to specific majors or specific courses. These cover things such as consumable supplies especially for art or science courses. A course fee might also support bringing in guest speakers.
These add up and depending on your major they can get hefty. Unfortunately they usually can't be avoided but at least you are checking in advance so you aren't caught be surprise.

College tuition and fees vary depending on what college you are looking at. At my university there are such fees such as SGA activity fees, athletic fees, and Techology fees. All of the fees make up different portions of a person's tuition. Check with your financial aid office and get a full list of the different fees your school requires.

They usually go by different names according to the schools, but fees usually include activity fees, student life fees, technology fees, etc. Some schools also include housing, meal plans, parking, etc. in their fee schedule.
