So, I'm taking this course to get an associates in business - Human Relations consentration. One of the classes they are making me take is College Algebra. I got a GED cause I wasn't able to finish high school. I have no knowledge of anything beyond pre-algebra. I can't make sense out of anything in the book. I have done what I can, can someone help me finish, and tell me how you did what you did? Its close to deadline, the professor is no help and I have no clue.

1) a)

Given the above graph, identify the graph of the function (line, parabola, hyperbola, or exponential) and give the domain and range as shown in the graph.

Graph Type: Parabola

Explanation: The domain is all real numbers and the range is all positive numbers

Domain: {0,1,2,3,4}

Range: {3,0,-1,0,3}

b)

Given the above graph, identify the graph of the function (line, parabola, hyperbola, or exponential), explain your choice, and give the domain and range as shown in the graph.

Graph Type: Exponential

Explanation: it is not symmetrical about any point or line, as x gets larger, y gets very large, as x becomes negative, y becomes small

Domain: {-4,-3,-2, 0, 1}

Range:{ 0, 0, 0, 1, 4}

c)

Given the graph above, identify the graph of the function (line, parabola, hyperbola, or exponential) and explain your choice.

Graph Type: Hyperbola

Explanation: The domain is all real numbers except 0 and the range is all real numbers

What happens to y as x gets larger? as x gets larger, y gets smaller, y will get close to 0 but will never be 0

What happens to x as y gets larger? As y gets larger, x does also

d) Given a line containing the points (1,4), (2,7), and (3,10) determine the slope-intercept form of the equation, provide one additional point on this line, and graph the function.
