It's very quiet here...although my washing machine sounds like it's getting ready for lift-off.
But then, it's1:30 a.m. and I live in a neighborhood where the average age is 70! (They've all gone to bed ages ago!)

I live in a dump in the city (NYC). So, no, it's loud as hell - emergency sirens, cars honking, trucks loading and unloading, neighbors throwing a party, in the summer - the rumble of air conditioning. I am so used to it that I don't really notice it, but my friends from out of town always notice it.
