Record sells can only tell you so much about a band. And that "so much" happens to be that people bought their albums. Nothing else. Record sells tell you about who bought the damn album. So, no it doesn't. Because they could sell trillions of records, but depending on the sound, their fans might abandon them. Look at Metallica. Black Album still sells millions. And those who bought it got turned on to Metallica. But some fans thought they sold out and they stopped listening.

defenetely no why because you sold a million you're the artist of the decade ! most incedible artists never even get the change to go broadway because they don't do what most are doing selling an image they just sing and that's what it is all about.

I don't believe it does. I really don't. Because there are a lot of underground bands and everything that are a lot better than the sell outs who have a bunch of albums being sold. It kind of makes me mad to be honest.

In most cases, it doesn't. Once in a while, there's a sucky person who comes along and proves ur theory to be right. I mean, just look @ Kevin Federline. Rhianna's 1st album only went gold and it was hot, but her 2nd was multi-platinum, and it was even hotter.

Absolutely Not. Take mainstream rap for instance. Then take mainstream rock, then take mainstream country. Who is on top, 50 Cent, My Chemical Romance, and the Dixie Chicks? You decide how good they are, stop letting others decide for you.

Not at all. There's a lot of garbage out there that goes platinum and beyond. Most of the music out now is recycled garbage.
