1989 buick lesabre 6cyl auto cuts off at red light at idle - it starts right back up! Have noticed hesitation while driving sometimes. Runs good until you come to complete stop. Have checked vacuum hoses, no plug misfires.Trans shifts ok.Removed post to check alternator, charging but some idle changes. Hot battery.

The plugs may be firing, but that doesn't mean they are firing enough. Try changing the plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor. That should do the trick.

Fuel problem is it carb ? Dirty needle.... injectors ? dirty injectors. Caused similar problems on a olds cutlas a mate had. All the hallmarks of electrical problems, but it was a dirty carb killing it at idle.
