A gift cerificate to the mall or her favorite store..that way you dont have to worry about getting exactly the right present, the right size, color, etc. She can use it to get exactly what she wants!

Well, I would buy her alot of her favorite C.Ds, and movies, DVDs and a really pretty (early gift) a Beautiful Princess sort of dress to wear for her birthday party!! Allow her to have a party with music, and boys, so long as their's chaparone's, and get her "Jewelry" and perfume, and maybe a nice little car ecologically safe good on gas for her first car.. And a "Gift Certificate to her favorite store, for whatever amount you can afford", and hey Higher a Band, if you can afford that too...... Regular Good Rock Bands, or whatever she's into are about $500.00 a night!! I was going to higher one, for all of us October birthday family members a couple of years ago, and found out how much they charged, and this was very reasonable for as "Good as they were!!" They played for our neighbor's and the whole neighborhood could hear them!! It was soo cool !!! And I'm 45, but at that time I was 42!! But, I was out there dancing to the music!!hahahah!!! Because they were playing just over the other side of the fence!! You could just do all of this at a restaurant, and have it be at one of those restaurant's that have live music!!! And ask them to sing her "Happy Birthday!!!" Before she gets to her seat, so that she hasn't a clue!! There's so many things you can do, for her, to make her birthday extra special, you could even ask her friends what she's been telling them she hopes you'll be getting her, so their the one's to talk too, hun!! Good Luck, to you!! Smile!!! Tell your daughter all of us here on Y/A, said "Happy Birthday to YOuuuuuu!!!"

Try buying her a journal with an inscription on the inside of the cover that says something like:
