Put two cents on his desk, or e-mail him a pic of 2 cents.

DRIVE HIM INSANE!

Create a new e-mail account with his name on yahoo or something and send it to his work e-mail address all day with random messages. You could include links about being a know it all, butting in on other people's questions and whatever else he does to drive you crazy; this may straighten out the problem a bit!

If not, it will drive him crazy having e-mails coming in to his from himself! Use the computers at your local library.

If you don't feel comfortable doing that, start hanging up all kinds of positive messages, and the value of silence around your space.

ANSWER: You don't deal with him at all.
There are people like that at my job too and I just don't worry about them. I do what I gotta do and get paid like everyone else does on payday; until another job comes up, that is. Just do your work - so long as your work gets done, nothing else should matter when it comes to people like that; they're not worth your entire day being ruined. Besides, it takes too much energy to worry about stuff like that (people like that rather). Good luck honey.

Every time he walks up, just politely excuse yourself from the conversation....it will take the wind out of his sails~

I would confront him and let him know he was irritating the hell out of me and for him to mind his own business.
