My husband bought an E-machine today with Vista and we are having a problem getting on line. We use a Broadband connection and a linksy Router. I believe we need drivers but don't have a disc for them . Anyone know where you can get drivers when you've got this new Vista!!!
Help

This is a PC not a Mac. And he did try the XP Download at the linksys site and it does not work for Windows Vista.

Goto the linksys.com website. Goto "driver's download" section, give your router model number and download the recommended file. If you can't find a specific download for Vista, try the one for Win XP. It should work.
Also, try resetting your whole system. It's possible your system is not recognizing the new mac address of the routher. Turn off the computer, then the router, and modem.
Plug and/or turn them back on in this sequence. Modem, Router, Computer. See if that works.

If not call up your internet provider, they might be able to walk you through some other things or at the very least pinpoint the trouble area.

you should have a cd that came with your router,
insert it into pc before you plug into router,
you have newer system so you need to reinstall the driver for your router,ok that should apply when ever you upgrade to a better machine, Your new machine can't find driver infomation its looking for to communicate with the internet

enable WPA encryption. examine the medical medical doctors for classes on doing that. it is not a password, yet everyone who does not understand the passphrase won't have the skill to get entry to your on the spot connection.
