hes had it since late yesterday. it just looked like he had dirt in his eye, but now its blue underneth it and it wont open. hes kicking at it alot. what should i do?!

I would suggest taking your chinese water dragon to a veterinarian as soon as possible. It doesn't sound too serious as of the moment though.
Just make sure that the soil put in is sterilized in cause he or she ingests it. A cover of sphagnum moss can be used for humidity, as can a mix of peat, soil and sand, soil and cypress mulch, astroturf, or paper.

For now though, a vet is your best bet on figuring out the problem.

take it to a vet. or see if there are any pet stores in your area that would check it out sometimes pets and vets. wont be able to because of liability's reasons which suck i know we had a hard time finding out that our Python was a male because of that but if all else ask if you can treat it for a eye infection and if it wont hurt it if you do go for it! best wishes

it sounds to me like he already has an infection or maybe some mites which will reason him to maintain scratching, so my suggestion is to get him as we communicate to the vets as quickly as available, in all possibility for some antibiotics or different remedies.
