I have a 2004 suzuki gsxr 1000 motorcycle and it has this knocking noise that happens when accelerating. Happens a little when not moving and revving up, but noticable when under load. What could it be?

I don't know Suzuki hardly at all. About the only time is see one is as it disappears going away but in the 70's I had a 650 Kawasaki that starter that knocking crap on acceleration. My problem turned out to be a cam chain tensioner took a dump. I replace the spring and follower and it shut up and started acting human again. I don't know if that will help but we can hope.

Could be a rod knock.
A crankshaft journal, piston pin, connecting rod, or bearing worn out.
To check -
--Remove the spark plugs.
--Turn the crankshaft to bring a piston up to TDC (top dead center).
--Keep turning until the piston is on it's down stroke. Then stop turning and hold the wrench.
--Slowly insert a screw driver into the sparkplug hole until you feel it "just" touch the top of the piston.
--Then push the screw driver. If there's any wear, you'll feel the piston move a tiny bit.

Like everyone said, GET IT FIXED.
A crankshaft costs $900 - each connecting rod
costs $160 - the crankcase costs $1500 - labor to fix a blown motor will cost close to $1500
If you catch it in time, the only parts you'll need will be about $60.

Make sure you got a good premium fuel in it - could be a spark knock. Knocks under load can be loose main bearings. rod bearings knock on deceleratrion. better get it checked out - ya don't want it to grenade. might lock up - dump oil all over the rear wheel and throw you off on your ***.

Rod, wrist pin. You're about to have an engine failure.
