I am certainly bothered by the fact that the current administration has alienated Europe through its foreign diplomacy, or lack of diplomacy. As an American, I know that it is important to keep our allies, but some Americans seem to think otherwise. Last time I checked, our country is not the one everyone loves, actually many governments dislike us, and there are others who would hate us if we didn't trade with them. I know the nation leading human civilization, the United States, is bound to be criticized by jealous underdogs, but we do need to maintain basic diplomacy with Europe for a couple reasons:
First, we need a strong military ally in the Eastern Hemisphere, preferably the European Union, including nations like the UK, France, Germany, Italy... and so on. If we were to get into a war with powers such as China or Russia (or both), we would need some ally to step on our side and fight with us, or our chances of winning (though still high), would be considerably lessened. Plus, why would we want to fight a total war with massive destruction and trillions of dollars spent, rather than sharing the responsiblity with another ally. If the EU and US create a bigger friendship, then most nations will be afraid of even considering attacking the United States, because they will know whats in store for them. If the US alienates Europe, it might become like a pre World War I stage, when Bismarck's important alliances fell apart, and the world went to war.
Secondly, economically we need a reliable partner like the EU which has nations whose growth still increases (mostly Eastern Europe). China is starting to dominate in Latin America, the United States needs to keep consumers for our products.
Last of all, the United States population is mainly from European descent, and I think that is important that we maintain good relations with the Europeans (even though I am of East Indian descent myself).

No matter what the EU says, the Euro will fall. The dollar is low in comparison to the Euro. It is in our favor that the dollar is low, it makes American goods cheaper on the foreign market. Which means they buy more of our stuff.
The Euro is artificially inflated, it is a new currency there isn't as much of it in circulation compared to the dollar. Look at the economic situation of Europe. High unemployment , socialistic governments, and taking on former Warsaw Pact countries like, Bulgaria and Romania will lead to its demise.
Europe will be like it once was, in comparison to the U.S.

I certainly hope that never happens. Most Americans are of European ancestry and I think we feel a certain homage to them. The European countries' populations of Europeans are shrinking and middle eastern populations are rising. When that population exceeds the Europeans, I think we might face some issues.

Nothing like panting yourself into a corner! I think we can regain some friendships back. With France, probably not.
Ironically, the EU is going to be more powerful than the US!

could easily become adversaries. in fact i believe it is probable. and this has caused me to wonder.
asia doesn't like us. the middle east pretty much hates us. africa is either naturally inhospitable or moslem. what's left? a bunch of white people down in south america who refuse to learn english? where can we vacation? who can we trade with? can our internationalist attitudes live alone in isolation?
it's all fun and games until someone pokes an eye out.

It's dangerous for Europe. But oh well......if they want to let the Islamo-fascists take over their continent, that's their choice.
