Happy Gilmore--that was when he perfected his persona. He's being playing the same character in the same story since Billy Madison: lovable loser with some kind of handicap (physical or emotional) whose gf dumps him cuz he's "going nowhere" and who finds himself so to speak by doing some selfless act with the help of a new pretty sweet and understanding girl......
.....oh yeah, and with the help of whatever corporate sponsor he has for that particular flick (ALL of his movies are blatant ads for some crappy fast-food chain)
Anyway, in spite of his simple stories (except Punch Drunk Love and Spanglish), he's charming as a performer. So...Happy Gilmore gets my vote coz it's not so gimmicky like his later films (e.g. Wedding Singer) and not as unpolished as Billy Madison

Big Daddy...No matter how many times I watch it...it never gets old....and it never stops cracking me up. I love the part ...well I love so many parts...but for some reason when the kids jumping on the couch and bops the delivery guy in the head....it makes me fall on the floor laughing.
