I will get married to my long term girl friend in China (Nanning City) and then come back to UK for 2 years to show my wife the country I live in.
I have been to Nanning a couple of times and know the score there. but need to know what documents the Chinese authorities will require for a wedding.
If any of you have the experience to help with this, Your help would be appreciated.
Any one who T H I N K S they know and are guessing....please it may be better NOT to answer. but thank you anyway.

Go to a Chinese Consulate/Embassy in the U.K. or China and ask your questions. Good Luck and Congratulations.

No problem. Very easy. My friend married a Chinese girl and they have now a baby girl, after one year of marriage.

But, my friend could speak Chinese (Mandarin) and his wife could speak French. They live in Shangai. They came to visit France. I correspond with them through internet. I live in S.audi A.rabia for now and I am invited to visit them in China before I go back to France.

I don't speak Chinese, but ask you girl friend to tell you how marriage is done in her country, don't you think this is the best way ?

I may fall in the catagory of "think I know", but I still want you to check into the law concerning you being able to leave China after the wedding. If I'm not mistaken, you must remain in China for 2 years following the wedding. Good Luck.

You're going to need notarized documents from officials in the UK stating that you are NOT currently married, and a copy of any police record you might have.

That's all I can think of (other than identification, like your passport).
