There are so many factors! You could be trying too hard, your body takes a while too adapt, your age (as it may take a little longer).... I used depro for years and still am but cautiously! I was on depro for 6 mnts then came of, got pg 12 wks later, took it for granted my fertiliy was good then tried to concieve 4 years later with 2nd child waited 20months I was 24. In the end concieved with an ovarian stimulant 'clomid' at 26 when I ask the docs why I concieved so quickly the 1st time they told me after lying dormant with the depro your ovaries got a kick start, so hand in there if nothing happens in the nxt few wks ask the doctor can u try colmid or be refer to a fertility clinic for investigation if you wait too long and your worried bout time- u can buy it on the internet, last resort!!!

I was on the depo shot for nearly four years but it only took a month for my period to come back and i was pregnant 11 months later.
Depo-Provera is not a good choice if you want to be pregnant in the next year or two. Why? Because it typically takes 9 to 10 months to become pregnant after you stop taking Depo-Provera as a contraceptive. It could even take up to 24 months after discontinuing use of Depo-Provera for you to become pregnant. The length of time you use Depo-Provera has no effect on how long it takes you to become pregnant.
This is from the following website: http://www.indiana.edu/~health/hw/depoprovera.shtml

I wish you the best of luck!

If you are worried you may be infertile than go into your doctor and talk to him about it, he can do the proper tests if you would like to tell you for sure. Some people just take longer than others to get pregnant, also if you want to get pregnant that bad and can afford it you could have a doctors help and have him plant the embryo's in your body but like I said this is pretty expensive but if you can't get pregnant the normal way than it is the way to go.
Good Luck and I hope everything works out.

the depo injection wont make u infertile i was on it for a yr had to come off cos of mood swings got worse. u should try to find out when ur ovulatin, and another thing if u r at it all the time u less likely to get pregnant should try relaxin and not thinkin about it u get pregnant when u least expect it. but see ur doctor they can give u more advice on it.

I took depo for 3 years and then stopped because my doc said that it could cause perm infertility, it took 2 years for my period to come back and my first one last 8 weeks! I don't recommend depo to anyone, it's a horrible choice for birth control.

i was on depo for about 4 1/2 yrs after the birth of my daughter. i decided to stop after researching the effects of synthetic hormones on the body. my first cycle began 7 months after my last injection and lasted about 6 weeks!!! horrible! shortly after that i began researching the benefits of natural progesterone cream. i started using it my next cycle and had my first period without cramps, waterfalls, mood swings, headaches, gas or sore breasts. it was awesome!! i continued to use the natural progesterone each cycle and became pregnant with my son about 4 months later. you may want to consider the benefits of natural progesterone---they go WAY BEYOND helping with conception. most "regular" docs know very little about it because it's not "made" by pharmaceutical companies because they can't make millions off of it because it can't be patented since it's natural--a good place to start is www.johnleemd.com, feel free to e-mail me at drusnak@ameritech.net if you would like more info. all the best to you!

well i actually just talked to my doctor yesterday about this. he said it can make you permanently infertal but every year your on the depo shot it takes a year to get it out. well im very afraid to tell you that you have to wait about 7 years before you can have a child. well that sounds like a very hard thing to tell a women who wants to have a baby. unlike me my baby was kinda not planed. but we still love her oh so much. some women just try to hard. others that dont want a child or not right now seem to have them quite easy.
so maybe you are trying way to hard and need to just take it easy for sometime and let your mind not think about it. and well the next thing you know you maybe pregnate.
well good luck with your trying to have a baby

i was on depo for 4.5 years, i got off it in feb of 2003, we have been trying since then to have a baby and i'm just now 5 months pregnant. i thought depo ruined my life! me and a few of my friends that were on it have decided that for all of us that took it it took however long we were on it to be off of it to get pregnant.
me= 4 years on it almost 4 years off it=pregnant
jess=6 years on it almost 7 off=pregnant.......
there are about 8 of us with the same conclusion. i don't know what to tell you other than be patient?
