www.pokemoncrater.com is the best one I know of. You can search for pokemon while walking around on maps and then verse Gym leaders get your pokemon to level 100 then trade them off for a nice new one!
~Spoiler~ When on maps there are other real life people, also they are who you must trade for new pokemon. Gym Leaders are Computer Controlled! :)

You can't play it online but you can play it on your computer. You just need to download a gameboy emulator and you can find the pokemon roms here;

Put both the roms and emulator in the same file and then play away.
