Slot 1 is furthest towards the center of the board & nearest to the CPU.
Slot 2 is in the middle.

DIMM 1 is faster than DIMM 2, Higher capacity in this slot and lower capacity will be placed in DIMM 2

if your replacing them its the slot furthest away from the cpu like the guy above me says
