I ve just bought a grey lipsy babydoll dress for a night out and i dont know what shoes to wear with it. Ive tried black knee high boots but its not very exciting. I need help fast with some sort of shoe to wear with it. The dress is just above the knee.

Gray is a great neutral to play with in your clothing. While I' love mary jane shoes, with a baby doll dress that may look a tad little girl-ish. If that's the look you are going for then a great pair of Mary jane pumps. If you are going for a pump a classic pair of black looks nice, but to really look playful and sassy, go with a bright colorful pair of heels. Red is so popular right now and looks great with gray. Also a bold blue would look nice. You can also easily accessories when you have such play in your clothing and shoes. Shoes like these options:

Sounds like the dress is a more neutral color. Accent it with a bright pair of red or even purple little heels. Tie it all together with a necklace or bag the same color.

These shoes:

Not exactly that colour/type, but that shape. Those flat, open-foot kind of shoes. It'll look casual and dressy at the same time!

wrap flots. You know the ones that go up your leg like ballet shoes. Do silver.
