I think Hillary Clinton has been unfairly characterized by the right wing.
It's fine to criticize her political views or actions if they (right wing) don't agree, but they go far beyond that.
I just hope that she can overcome the smear campaign from the right wing by making her case for her presidential bid.
It will be tough because some of the voting public are like sheep and have been brainwashed by conservatives.
I am still trying to figure out why so many right wingers still believe President Bush is the best thing since sunshine.
He is the worst President this country has had, and the right wingers are scared of Hillary Clinton being president.
George W. scares the hell out of me.

As you may have already figured out, Hilary (I spell it this way because she used to say that she was named after Sir Edmund Hilary. Turned out to be a lie. Or misstatement. Which ever you prefer.) is being targeted by the vast right wing conspiracy, of which I am a member (I have a coffee mug to prove it). It's been a long and arduous fight or endeavor and well, lets face it, just a whole heck of a lot of fun.
If she is going to be a candidate she must take the heat. If she can't handle it she knows where to go......bake some more cookies.

It is a repuglican ploy, why does it work election after election? I think I know, a majority of these so called conservatives can be easily duped. They are maybe the most mentally diminished of the population and believe that Rush Limbaugh is telling them the truth instead of telling them what they want to hear to sell sponsorships. Same with Hannity, Coutler, and Faux news. Tell it over and over and over and they buy it like a carp to a dough ball. In answer to your question, yes, Hillary has been a subject of their hate longer then anybody else, except maybe Jimmy Carter. .
Edit: after reading your answers, I rest my case, not one of them original, all have been "discussed" by Limbaugh, who runs a segment on his show everyday about one of the Clinton's. Lately it is Hillary for a many years it was Bill. But the rhetoric is exact and the same thing that is said here.

She is an elected representative of our people. She is a former First Lady.
She deserves the respect that comes with that, particularly from people who haven't done 1/100th of what she has for our country.
That said, it is patriotic to disagree, dissent, and protest her goals and policies, just as it is to do so regarding President Bush's policies and goals.
That does not mean it is alright to be seditious, call her names, spread unfounded rumors about her, treat her as "guilty until proven innocent".
Its the same caliber of intellect, lack of integrity, and absence of patriotism you see in those who do the same to President Bush. It's wrong, and has always been wrong.
And most of us are tired of it. Don't join them.
Better, speak up every time and use your own free speech!
Now, the fact that she has done some of these same things to President Bush and other elected representatives does not mean that I will do the same to her. I have more respect for her service to the nation to do that to her.
I will not weaken our nation for my political position, any more than I do for President Bush.
I simply would not vote for her. I will vote for someone who has not done these things in the Democratic party. Someone who sees Americans first, Patriotism first, and THEN their political party (last).
Keep speaking up, all of you.

Hillary a victim? I have to stifle my laugh. She leaves victims in her wake. Her and her housemate Bill specialize in character assasination and smear campaigns. They and their present and past cronies (like James "Hatchetman" Carville) are a despicable bunch.

The wicked witch of the east is a hardcore socialist. Find out what that means, then you will recognize what Hillary wants to do to this country, and the world.
No, she has not been smeared. She IS evil. But the libs want to paint her as the champion of the people. She is for Hillary, no one else.

Let's see, because she's insane! Do you not remember her claims of visits by Eleanore Roosevelt, and no Roosevelt isn't alive! She stole furniture from the White House and has a socialist plan for health care. She's smeared herself pretty good.

Given the fact that she is one of most corrupt people to ever enter into politics I would have to say the smear is fact and she is far worse than even her detractors believe.
