My first thought was rat poison, the kind that causes internal bleeding. I have seen a mouse that died from this (a wild mouse) and it was bleeding from the butt. But your hamster acts well, which I don't think it would if it were bleeding badly internally. But make sure your hamster hasn't had access to this.
My second thought was hemorrhoids. In humans I know this is the most common reason for bleeding from the butt. I haven't heard of a hamster having hemorrhoids, though. Hemorrhoids are more annoying than dangerous, and they tend to bleed every now and then, kind of a chronic thing.
My third thought was some injury to the anal area. But I assume you already looked carefully for an injury; and if you didn't, surely the vet would have.
Beyond these ideas, I can only speculate. Cancer is one possibility, and I suppose there are other possible causes.
Make sure the hamster is not constipated. It seems there is something wrong in the colon, and constipation would make it worse. Rodents are rarely constipated, but I had a guinea pig get constipated from eating a certain type of grass. Maybe you could give the hamster some raisins, which would help prevent constipation as well as providing extra iron, which could help it recover from blood loss.
I hope the problem isn't too serious, but I am afraid that it may be.

Is your hamster a boy or a girl? If it is a girl has it been "fixed" i guess if hamsters can have that done. Simply it could be having it's period like any other living female. Thats all i can think of. Hope i helped! ttyl

unfourtunatly most vets dont take mice or hansters or even guniea pigs seriously
there is no sugury for them there is no medications if its a girl it might be a small chance its in heat but i doubt hamsters bleed
other than that hope pray keep its cage clean and do your best to keep it clean
