I mean, most people have their welcome mat facing towards the door so that their guests see "WELCOME" when they come over.
But wouldn't it be better facing the other way so when you're leaving your house, it says "Welcome" to you as in "WELCOME TO THE WORLD"???

Sometimes the facing the door is fine, until the guests have worn out their welcome and then it should be facing toward the outside world.
Kind of a hint along the lines of turning off all the lights and telling the guests, well we have to get up early in the AM so goodnight.....

No... the world welcomes me with or without a mat...
However, for it to face me as I stand in the doorway... would be a constant reminder to me... to Welcome the person standing there... I'm not keen on guests...
