I thought Metallica's newest album was crap and I have hopes for the new album that they'll redeem themselves but they seemed out of date now =\, They were so good back in the day of Master of Puppets, and Kill Em' All

releases in my order of favoritism
ride the lightning
kill em all
master of puppets
garage days revisited (even if just an ep)
and justice for all (this is where it ends for me)
metallica was one of my favorite bands, until they started crying because of napster and kazaa and the like. maybe if they recorded better songs they would have better sales.
back to the question, i heard st anger i believe shortly after its release to be roughly 4 years ago. wasn't very open to it. sounded rough like they were shooting for a garage sound.
tick tick tick tok and so forth, what's that? what happened to the awesome playing and the sweet lyrics. SUPER THUMBS DOWN

St Anger sounded like Bonjovi with laryngitis. Metallica is way past their sell-by date. Time to put them in the nostalgia bin and move on. Master of Puppets was their finest album, they never did any better.

St. Anger sucked
but the new album they say they are breaking out the new drums and bringing back the guitar solos. if st. anger had that it would of done fine.
master of puppets and that stuff was good but i liked the load era as well.
Metallica is my favorite band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YUCK!!!! AWFUL BAD CRAP!! master of puppets was there swan song lp cd whatever. the black album was solid too but Metallica should retire!! they are a washed up set of hairbags!

Their pushing fifty guy. You cant expect them to come out with killer songs like they did in the past.
I think they should stick to their laurels and doing tours during the summer personally.

Dude they really shouldnt have! with corny lyrics and the guy sounds like he's beating on cans that are supposed to be drums!
