In all honesty the Yankees may be the 4th or 5th best team in the American League--nothing more. The days of World Series rings went out the door with the hard nosed players they had win them those rings (Paul O'Neill, Mike Stanton,Bernie Williams,Tino Martinez)--they are not close to the same team since. That pitching scares nobody--and the lineup is not the best hitting lineup in the A.L.--I could care less how much money is over-spent in it. Put 'em in the A.L. Central and see where they finish.

No, I don' t think they will go all the way this year. Everyone one in the AL seems to be getting better ( Red Sox, White Sox, Tigers, etc.). The younger teams are also starting to get their acts together (Cleveland is a prime example) which means the AL is only getting tougher. And if the Yankees have taught us anything its that a line up filled with all stars doesn't always mean a championship.
