Every year I buy about 6 fish, how come like after 5-7 days 2 or 3 of them die easily. We keep them at room temprature, change their water everyday, and feed them every morning but they die really really fast!!! Every year I have only 2-4 fish left so before those 2-4 fish die I have to throw them in a river, lake, or water fountain (not where you drink from). Any help is good

You leave too many questions unanswered.

What do you keep them in? If a bowl, typical lifespan is only about 30 days as a bowl is much too small for goldfish, let alone an overcrowded bowl.

Even a tank needs to be of a good size to support several goldfish. But, daily waterchanges do more harm than good as there is such a thing as too clean when you continually remove the healthy bacteria before it has a chance to form the beneficial colony that is needed to enable longer, healthier life in your fish.

Check out the net and research what you need to not have this happen. Below is a good source for data on fishkeeping of all types, including Goldfish.

Hope this helps and good luck.

well first off....
~they should be in cool water=no higher than 72oF
~water should be changed once a week, and you should only take out 25% of the water
~ you should only feed them as much as they will eat in a 3 or four minute period
also.....
~one gold fish produces SO much waiste that just the one should be in a 15 gallon tank
~ so if you have two it should be AT LEAST 20
~ for 6 goldfish you should really be having about a 90 gallon tank or an outdoor pond
~ their pH needs to be around 6.5
~ and it takes one month with fish in the water for it to cycle.
you should probably go online or speak with the fish specialist at the petstore you buy them from for the exact care. until then...don't get anymore fish.

I own 3 fish my self but u shouldn't change the water everyday it could get to cold with them u should change the water every 3 days p.s get some aqua plus for it it changes tap water to fish water so they shouldn't die so easily and buy a big tank if u r going to buy 6 fish.

You have too many goldfish at once. They produce too much waste to all be together unless you have a 50 gallon or higher tank to house that many. Each goldfish needs at least 10 gallons to survive. Never change all of the water and make sure they have enough air. keeping goldfish in a bowl shortens their life span.

Id say not to buy them all at once, buy one every 4-5 weeks or so & you should get a better survival rate.

Why do you keep buying them? What are you keeping them in? Goldfish are mass producers of waste and need large tanks, and seem to do best arounf 68 degrees.
