I do not know how many times a day to feed my fish, I just got mine yester day, I hav only been feeding it once a day, but should I feed him. I do not want to lose this little fishy or wake up and it be hanging in the water upside-down.

I feed my bettas 2x a day 6 days a week with 1 day of fasting.
For a more vibrant betta feed him several types of food, its good for them.
I feed mine Hikari pellets(2-3), freeze dried blood worms(3-4) and frozen brine shrimp(as many as he likes). Not all at the same time.

As they are tropical fishes which were found in puddle of water in rice field. They are used to not to eat too much, and only eat when food is found. So U don't actually need to feed them very much. Just a bit Once to three times a day is enough depends on U. They can also goes without food for about two weeks, but their body will be weaken down...

one time a day is fine! you can feed him more, if you feed him two or three times a day, make sure it is only a little and if you do think you are feeding him to much in a week you can allways not feed him for a day.. they can go more then a week with out food! some betta will only eat ever other day so I guess it just depends on the beta

the more you feed him the more often you will have to clean your tank, if it is more on the cooler side, feed less ( lower metabolism and longer life) i only feed mine once a day, and feed bettamin flakes, and bloodworms everyother day. he will eat from my hand, that is a happy betta.

Once is fine. Only a small amount, that will be eaten in 3 to 5 min. If you overfeed, you will pollute your water.
