Raw is live I know for a fact since I've gone to RAW and it was on a monday and SD is on tues.
The idiot who said all tv is pre-recorded waht about games

Probably easier on the wrestlers travel-wise. Also, if you notice they put a lot of the "lesser talent" on SmackDown, so it allows them to edit the matches so they look better. That's one of the main reasons Khali started on SmackDown. Also, Raw is live. There's a slight delay so they can have a chance to censor "wardrobe malfunctions", but that's only a couple of seconds.

Smackdown recorded and thats why websites like pwmania have spoilers. They prerecord it because WWE is always touring and they record all the shows and play the best one for Friday Night Smackdown. raw and ECW are usually live

What's stopping them from making Smackdown live is that fact that WWE's production crew have long hours to being with. You figure it's better for the crew to work 2 straight days as opposed to having a few days off before lugging the equipment cross country again. Remember, they travel in trucks, not planes, so there is a LOT of travel time.
It's also cheaper to record it.

Because they record the matches at "house" shows...Raw is the only live WWE show...They record some matches for Smackdown AT Raw shows, before the live show starts...The show usually starts about 7:00pm Eastern, two hours before they go live on the air with Raw...

Its pre recorded because its on Friday nights when the WWE makes lots of money off house shows. Also its difficult to run three live TV shows a week.

suitable Smackdown has Boogeyman, Kane, Undertaker, Mr Kennedy, Jimmy wang yang, Shannon Moore, and JBL as a commentator. uncooked has Vince's humorous antics, DX, great Khali. ECW would not fairly have something anymore, it lost Shannon Moore and huge practice. i will ought to bypass with smackdown, because of the fact I quite love the boogeyman xP

the reson why smacksdown is recorded is becouse u get both smackdown and ECW shows for the price of one aand making it easyer and cheaper for vince

I don't know. I think it's because Friday nights are busy or it's so that they can suit the Monday Night Raw programming.. Trust me.. Monday Night Raw is not really 'live'.

Most likely its traveling issues. It's easier for them to have two different sets of stars travel than have three seperate brands that are always in different places at different times.
