E6000 (or any other of the Goop glues -- Crafters' Goop, Shoe Goo, Amazing Goop, Household Goop, etc) will certainly hold plastic together, but to my knowledge it won't "melt" the edges of the plastic it as something that would weld it would do. I like this particular brand of glue because it doesn't get brittle as it dries, but stays very slightly flexible.

I'd say it's a good choice. Run a thin line of the glue along the crack, then use something thin with a flat non-flexible edge (file the end of a Popsicle stick to make it flat) to squish the glue into the crack a bit better. Try not to touch it with your fingers. If you do, go wash them thoroughly. This stuff will make you ill if handled incorrectly. It won't do anything dramatic, like eat the skin away while you watch, but it will make you not feel well. Use something to hold the sides of the crack tightly together, like wrapping around the car with twine or tape that won't mar the surface or some such thing. Read the package instructions carefully to see how long you need to let it set and cure.

E6000 glue would work very good but i like Elmer's ultimate glue for RC cars because you can sand it
