Honestly, I don't think anything special of Canadians. They seem polite and don't cause much of stir. They seem like civilized people and very nice, quiet neighbors.
I will say I have been surprised to find the occassional Canadian who hates Americans because of a war in the distant past. Particularly odd for me, since I am only 2nd generation American.
Peace!

I don't think about Canadians as a whole, but rather the individual Canadians that I've met. All of whom have been very nice, and a lot like me and my friends.
I will say that many Americans do get the perception that the identity of Canada is largely based on the idea that it isn't something else. Such as "Welcome to Canada. It ISN'T the U.S.". Sort of odd. Plus we do get the impression from time to time that you don't really like us, as a whole. Then again, we kinda feel that way in regards to most other countries as well.

We like you! Honestly. I think though, that we don't know a lot about you because we don't HEAR a lot about you. There is VERY little in the media about Canada at all. The only thing I've heard about Canada recently is about the pet food recall because it's a Canadian company. Other than that, I don't know much about Canada at all although I did go to Quebec when I was a child, and also to British Columbia. I know that there is a great ski resort called Banff and my dad's been there and he loved it. And my brother's also been up there and he loved it; said it was gorgeous.

I respect Canadians. Their lives are pretty much like Americans but they act more dignified and have a social conscience without having the proverbial broomstick you-know-where like the Brits.Their crime rates are lower and they know how to provide healthcare for their population. And the maple leaf flag is cool!!

TV makes it look like Canadians are extremely clean environmental people and very proper. Every sentence is stated with an "Eh?" at the end of it. Jokes of maple syrup and moose, etc. All in all, we kind of forget that Canada exists. It's just kind of there.

I think we generally think you are cool...you are pretty much a little socialized america...you get to ride our coat tails militarily though, as we obviosuly have kept the bad guys out of the americas up to this point...we all think the ey is funny though...to the young lady who said we are envious of your medical system...she does not speak for me or many other americans. Many canadians that vacation in Fl., wait til the winter to schedule their surgeries so they can have them down here. I for one Do NOT want govt. medicine.
