My nano is being charged, but it wont read in itunes:(

I have two sides to the computer. One is for my nano and one is for my video. My nano will not read on either side

Have you used your nano with another iTunes on a different computer? Ipods wont work with iTunes on 2 different computer because it thinks you are stealing someones music.

Check your USB cable is plugged directly into the computer and not through a hub or other peripheral. I have had the same problem with my nano - it only works if directly connected to the mac.

well. first of all this happend to me bfore and led me tell you. the secret is actually to download this program called linux for you ipod nano.. research it on yahoo.. look for linux download.. believe me its good and makes the memory actually better it compresses all the songs and files so that the videos would fit..

try rebooting your system .
have you updated your itunes program lately? that could be it to.
computers have a mind of there own !!
