My wife is watching it on Sky+ at the moment and keeps pausing it to pour more wine or go outside to smoke. As if it weren't long enough?

Total waste of both Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. Boring and predictable, especially Clive's character. And a pretty bad father too; he cared more about himself and his wife finding out that he almost cheated than he did his daugher.
To make him more sympathetic, they should have made him tell his wife the truth and have them decide together to use the money, not have him make the decision unilaterlly. Then maybe I would have cheered a bit at the ending. All I could think about was that he was a boring, selfish bastard who deserved everything he got.

I thought the movie was average. As for Clive Owen, he's the total package and I think movies like Inside Man and Children of Men are much better examples of his talent.

Um Clive Owen can't do an American Accent to save his life...
Vincent Cassel was great though. Totally Hilarious!

GREAT question. I watched it on my own and liked it. I watched it again with my husband (insisting that he watch it), and he thought it was predictable and bland. I don't think it was a waste of his talents even if it wasn't the best movie in the world. I came to appreciate him even more when I saw him in better films (Inside Man, for example) because I could see the effort he put into making the Derailed character interesting. He's freakin' awesome.

not totally a bad movie, ive seen far worse. did like the little twist at the end where you thought he was in prison and not just serving community service. as for clive owen the actor, other than the accent, i dont see any point to the guy. hes fluff to me! (fluff being additional details and/or actor not really vital for the film in my opinion) so what talents would you be referring to? i feel any movie the guys been in any actor could of done. he doesnt really stand out. i did like him in gosford park though, but he was a butler and he is english so there was no real stretch for him there. you know what i mean?

i really liked the film, sure, it had its flaws, but it was good as far as action films go, i didn't forsee the twist and it was q interesting.
children of men, however, was a right royal waste of clive owen's talents and an even bigger waste of 2hrs of my life!!!
