Hi, I've recently tried to open the bottom of my laptop, to upgrade my memory. I tried to screw open the screw on the memory case door, but I couldn't open it... and then I just kept trying to screw it open, and now the screw is all messed up, and my screw can't open it anymore, and I can't upgrade my MEMORY!!!

Does anyone know how to solve the problem of a broken screw? The screw has no more grip, so my tiny screwdrivers can be no use now....... PLEASE HELP ME!!!

The best thing you could do is go to a local hardware shop and buy the smallest stripped screw extractor you can get ahold of.

Then just follow the directions.

A good rule for small screws is to use the biggest screwdriver that fits into it.

I am sorry to hear this.

Take your computer to a repair shop. They will NOT charge you to sinply open the Dell Insprion 8600 notebook.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
