Likely the Grateful Dead sold the most tickets since they always sold out. The good thing about it though was that they wouldn't allow their tickets to be sold for ridiculous prices...they were more interested in having their fans at the shows than making tons of money from them. Many of their fans would follow them show to show so they had to be affordable. I, myself went to several shows with my husband at the time. The most I went to though during a single tour would be 3.

My guess would be the Rolling Stones. That is only a guess, but after 43 years of touring the world they hold quite a few records.
