Most large scale jewlery stores craft their own rings. One of the hardest things about getting a ring or neckalce ready to sell is cutting the gemstone and crafting the actualy item. ALmost all jewellery stores do this themselves, saving them the money of haveing to go through a middle man. When the jewllery is made, they just mark up the price to whatever they think htey can sell it for, based on quality, market value, where they are going to sell it, size, who they are going o sell to, etc. It's funny because i just saw my sister try on a $75,000 diamond ring today, but of course we didn't buy it.
