I'\ve heard that vingear and water make a good window clean solution.

Question: What's the ratio of vinegar to water...50/50 or ???

Also, when people refer to 'vinegar' are they referring to plain white vinegar or ???

Thanks

To make a gallon mix 1/4 cup white vinegar with water. It will stink but will clean windows. Also plain newspaper will clean windows just as well as any cleaner. You will have the ink on your hands from the paper but soap & water can get that off.

When people say vinegar, They mean white vinegar, because any other vinegar with stain whatever you are using it on.
Heinz vinegar book says when you use vinegar it is usually 1 part (could use 1 cup) to 4 parts water, But you can use any amount you want as long as you stay within 1 to 4,part unless specified. I use a spray bottle, and add 1 cup vinegar and whatever water that fills the bottle. hope that helped.

Forget about vinegar. The best solution is sudsy ammonia and water. That's how all professional window cleaners clean windows. You float the glass with the solution and squeegee it off. Go to a big box home improvrement and buy a lambs wool applicator and a squeegee.

Half fill a bucket of water, put in your usual detegent, add a couple of splashes of malt vinegar ( the sort you put on your chips). Wash as usual. Distilled white vinegar can be used for loads of cleaning uses too.

I am in the cleaning business and here is our secret!
We simply don't need that viager stuff...
We buy this cleaning cloth off the internet. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve

Plain white vinegar and newspaper on glass is a good cleaner. I've heard that there's something in the ink of newspaper that kills bacteria on glass.
