Well geewiz, that question is somewhat ignorant. I suppose you should discover world history a bit before you take your noodle for a spin. Hell, why don't we replace "americans" with Germans remembering Hitler and all? I don't think we are at all as bad as you would like to believe. Besides, there are far worse societies to be a part of than American. Start in the Middle East and then work your way back home. Oh wait...if you did that, being a woman and all, you couldn't have asked your question without losing your tongue. DA!

I think it's because they are scared to get in trouble by stepping out of line of their patriotic duties as a fellow human.
And what expectation as a good do getter while breathing their given space on this earth. Pay bills on time, keep nose clean.(Speaking in form)
Not stupid maybe gullible, could be brainwashed but righteous person or a good Christan.

Apathy and our busy lives are the biggest issues to our sins. Three branches of government are confusing and truth is judged in the fire of debate. In the end the system we have comes around to justice.

Because many of them need are too scared from the outside people and immigrants. They need someone who think for them and act for them and when someone come to this country to work and to do the things no one else want, faster and better they need someone who stop this for just the votes. Many of them have forgotten that we are immigrants descendants. The last was just one example in what theme many Americans let them selves to be drive by politicians foe the only reason they don't want to think for them selves.
